Industry Professional

Sign into your Story Data account. Select Subscription from the My Areas menu. Once the view loads, click Apply for Industry Professional Status button to apply for Industry Professional status.

Notification sets allow you to specify several attributes (criteria) you are looking for. Attributes can include, but not limited to, genre, type, logline text, page length, locations, etc. Once the platform finds a script that matches your criteria, the script is added to your reading list and you are notified.

Within the script overview, click the “Request Read Access” button. Once writer approves your request, you will have access to read the script either through the browser and/or mobile app.

Yes. Within your profile subscription page, there is a set of controls that allows you to change your method of payment. At this time, we only accept credit and debit cards. We currently do not accept ACH bank drafts. Each account is only allowed one method of payment at a time. We do not store your card information within our databases. You card information is stored exclusively with our financial processing partner.

Your card is charged on the same day each month corresponding with the date you first purchased the subscription.

Writer

Average 120 page or less script will ingest within three minutes. However, your script ingestion time will vary depending on current processing loads.

Please allow fourteen to twenty-one days for completion on coverage report. However, your coverage report completion time can vary depending on current queue size. Coverages are processed in the order in which they are received.

Our goals are to have as many scripts shown and purchased by industry professionals as possible. After speaking with many writers, we were told that hosting price is just as important as hosting platforms features. To help more writers in their discovery process, we felt a script should not cost more than one cup of coffee to host.

Yes. We currently allow industry professionals and your peers to browse and filter writer profiles.

At anytime you can upload your script with the option to reprocess the data we extracted while marking this upload as a revision. All script, character, and scene notes are retained. Any notes moving forward, are marked with the newest revision.

You have the option to restrict who can read your script, how they can read it (browser or mobile app only), and the length of time readers have access to read. This gives you full control, something that is unique to our platform. Additionally, you are notified every time someone reads your script, giving you full visibility into the actions of your readers. You can revoke access at anytime.

Within the edit story page, toggle the “Visible” slider to turn on and off your script. Scripts with visibility set to off, will not show up in searches, but people you have invited to read will still have access to it from their reading lists.

The platform currently supports feature film, television, and short form scripts for ingestion and hosting.
